Dr. Julie will create an individualized protocol best suited for your specific health goals. By the end of your initial naturopathic medicine appointment, you will receive:

  • Basic diet and lifestyle recommendations
  • Supplement (herbal and/or nutrient) recommendations
  • Where appropriate, functional medicine testing or blood work recommendations. Testing may include insulin, glucose, androgens, female sex hormones (estradiol and progesterone), inflammatory markers, liver and cholesterol, thyroid, gut bacteria testing, genetic testing (GeneRx), etc.
  • When appropriate: intramuscular (IM) nutrient injection therapy, intravenous (IV) nutrient therapy, acupuncture. Learn more below.

Intravenous (IV)

Nutrient Therapy

IV therapy (injected into the vein) provides direct access of nutrients, electrolytes and fluids into the bloodstream. Nutrients can be delivered in higher concentrations from an intravenous route of administration compared to what can be absorbed through the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. IV therapy can be especially helpful if our bodies nutrient demand is high from stress, high levels of physical activity, fighting off an infection, recovering from surgery or having a compromised digestive system.

Intramuscular (IM) Nutrient

Injection Therapy

IM therapy involves injections of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants into the deltoid or gluteal muscles of the body. Muscle tissue has a lot of blood supply, making intramuscular injections an effective method for administering therapeutic dosages of nutrients to be utilized quickly by the body.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) technique that has been practiced for thousands of years. Acupuncture uses high-quality, thin, sterile needles that penetrate the skin and muscle. Acupuncture needles are placed along meridian channels through which your life-energy known as "Oi" flows. This helps to promote your own natural self-healing process by stimulating various acupuncture points. Acupuncture can help support your nervous system, immune system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system and digestive system.
